The Big Roadtrip 2002!

Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Grand Canyon, Arizona

- 11 September 2002 -

"New from Generic House, the new romantic novel that's sweeping the nation:
The Overpasses Of Albuquerque"

Generic New Mexico scenery.

Generic New Mexico scenery with an extra heaping helping of H2O on top.

Gallup, New Mexico.

Back to the general scenery.

I got to Flagstaff about an hour and a half before sunset.

I was just passing through... but I couldn't help but go to the Grand Canyon, even though I didn't have much time. I was *so close*, and I didn't know when I'd be back again! (I had no idea I'd be back with the love of my life in June 2004!)

Along US 180, on the way to the Grand Canyon.

Yes, this is Arizona

No, I didn't throw a picture of Central Oregon in here. This is Arizona...

I really didn't expect all of these trees on the way to the Grand Canyon. I didn't expect any trees, in fact. I think I expected sand dunes, or maybe a red rock desert. Instead, I saw a landscape which looked very similar to Central Oregon -- a xeric forested landscape that continued right up to the canyon itself!

Tusayan, Arizona, just a few miles from the Canyon itself. It's the closest town to the Grand Canyon.
